Strong Schools For ALL Kids!

A group of CPS parents got together to organize a Neighborhood Schools Fair to promote strong schools for all kids in Chicago. The Neighborhood Schools Fair is a chance to meet parents, teachers and community groups from across our great city who are working together to strengthen and promote neighborhood schools. Parents and students can see what great things are happening at their neighborhood school including special programs.

  1. This was a fantastic event which originated as an idea from mothers of students attending CPS . Sponsored by people in the Chicago schools’ community! What a delight to see our neighborhood schools show their stuff! The workshops were done well and informed many about the issues facing schools today! The students participated eagerly and you could tell they were proud of their schools. it was amazing to watch this event unfold and become the greatest school event I’ve seen in years! No tax dollars were spent and the community did not hesitate to mingle , network and make new friends! All sides of the city were represented and each school displayed and highlighted their “goodies” . A special thanks to the BAMs (Bad Ass Moms) work worked tirelessly to pull this historical event together. Almost 25 years since school reform measures were instituted and now we have seen the fruits of our labor. Our. Students, parents, teachers and community have come together with passion, perseverance and a mission to bring the city together! We have been freed from the corporate chains! BAMs rock and have led the way! What is next?
